Professor Tu Wenwei from University of Hong Kong came to Wuhan Institute of Virology on an exchange visit
On August 7th, at the invitation of Tang Hong, researcher of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Dr. Tu Wenwei, from Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong, made an academic visit to the institute and gave an excellent academic presentation entitled " Targeting the host rather than the virus: a novel strategy to treat influenza diseases" .In his report, Dr. Tu mainly introduced the important progresses his research team had made on the interactions between Influenza Virus and host cells. Dr. Tu’s presentation generated great interests among the audience. Both staff members and students participated into the discussions with Dr. Tu on several related issues of his presentation. Dr. Tu’s visit has provided us with new insights into the studies on Influenza Virus.
